The benefits of solar and renewable energy
Switching to solar energy is a proven, tested, and reliable way to slash your energy bills. In fact, solar prices have plummeted by 85% in the past decade, making it more affordable than ever.
Gone are the days of uncertain returns. With today’s advanced forecasting, we can accurately predict your savings from the moment your system is installed. Our customers often see a return on investment in under 9 years.
Join the many homeowners who have boosted their property value and reduced their reliance on the grid. Solar energy not only pays for itself quickly but also adds long-term value to your home.
The Energy Price Cap, determined by Ofgem, sets a limit on how much suppliers can charge households for gas and electricity. While this cap is intended to protect consumers, it also means that prices can increase when energy costs rise — and a substantial hike is expected soon.
Significant Increase from October 2024
On 1 October 2024, the price cap will increase by 10%, raising the average annual bill for a typical household to £1,717 — an increase of nearly £150 per year.
Even steeper bills are forecasted for January 2025.As energy costs continue to escalate, switching to solar power is becoming an increasingly wise decision.
Many homeowners are already cutting their energy bills by up to 70% and enhancing their property value. With Make Your Energy, you can receive a quote in just 30 seconds and take control of your energy expenses today.

The financial savings forecast presented is based on several assumptions and estimates, including a switch from a standard electricity tariff rate of 28p to the Octopus Flexible tariff. The projected energy cost assumes an annual increase of 7.0% due to current trends in rising energy prices. This estimate is tailored to your selected preferences, current energy costs, and the position and orientation of your roof, which affect the system's efficiency. Projections assume an estimated energy usage of 7,000 kWh per year and are based on a Standard 28p Electricity Tariff. Please note that actual savings may vary due to fluctuations in electricity tariff rates, changes in energy consumption, or variations in the performance of the solar system. The installation of this solar system may impact your electricity tariff rates; you should contact your electricity retailer for further information. The forecasts provided align with the guidelines set by the Microgeneration Certification Scheme (MCS). However, these forecasts should not be considered guaranteed savings, and they are subject to change based on market conditions, regulatory changes, or individual circumstances. Customers are encouraged to consult with an independent financial advisor before making any investment decisions.

Our glossary
Anti Islanding
Inverters are designed to prevent islanding but most hybrid inverters are fitted with an EPS teminal so you can use the power saved in your pbatteries during a power cut. (see in this glossary for an explanation of Islanding and EPS)
Islanding
During a power cut some part of the grid is still supplied with electricity. Unintenional islanding by a solar system can be very dangerous during a power cut as the power from the inverter could electrocute the engineers trying to fix the problem
Building-integrated photovoltaics (BIPV)
Building-integrated photovoltaics (BIPV) are solar panels designed to blend into your building's architecture, replacing conventional materials with energy-generating ones.
Energy performance certificate (EPC)
An energy performance certificate (EPC) rates the energy efficiency of a building from A (excellent) to G (poor). It's required when buying, selling, or renting a property in the UK.
Feed-in tariff (FiT)
The Feed-in Tariff (FiT) scheme paid homeowners for electricity generated from renewable sources. It's now closed for new applicants but still benefits those who signed up earlier.
Grid-connected system
A grid-connected system links your renewable energy setup directly to the national electricity grid, enabling you to export excess energy or draw from the grid when needed.
