Britain Backs Plan to Store Carbon Dioxide Under the Sea
Britain supports two major projects to capture and store carbon dioxide from industrial plants under the sea. These plans, led by energy companies BP and Eni, aim to reduce emissions and help combat climate change. The British government will provide £22 billion over 25 years to fund these efforts. The projects in Teesside and near Liverpool will create thousands of jobs and store millions of metric tons of carbon dioxide each year. The government hopes this technology will attract new investments and help industries meet climate goals. Carbon capture is expected to become an important part of reducing emissions globally.
